Northstar Advisory Partners was founded, in 2022, to service the needs of businesses and independent contractors. As businesses grow from the start-up stage to full maturity, their needs evolve and require their financial advisors have the ability and breadth of services to fully support clients. Northstar provides a full-suite of services that spans from business formation to M&A advisory. Northstar’s partners have careers that include such firms as PriceWaterhouse, Lehman Brothers, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and other Fortune 500 financial service firms being responsible for over $20 billion in debt and equity capital raising along with operational experience in the technology, media/entertainment, e-commerce and food/beverage industries.
About the team
Jua Mitchell, MBA
Jua Mitchell is a senior financial executive with more than twenty years of experience in accounting, financial operations, capital raising, M&A execution and integration. Jua received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida A&M University’s School of Business & Industry. Upon graduation, Jua worked in the marketing industry at The Interpublic Group of Companies. Seeking higher education, Jua then earned an MBA with concentrations in corporate finance, accounting and entrepreneurship from The University Chicago Booth School of Business.
After graduation, Jua joined the technology, media and telecom corporate finance group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) as an Associate executing over $10 billion in equity and debt transactions spanning from Virgin Mobile’s IPO to a $500M senior credit facility for MetroPCS. After departing BAML, Jua joined Northern Trust’s private wealth management group as an Investment consultant advising high net worth clients and institutional entities. After his Fortune 500 employment experiences, Jua began a consulting practice working with start up and SMBs in the ecommerce and digital media industries serving entrepreneurs and private equity portfolio companies. He has served as CFO for Yeezy LLC, SVP of Finance & Accounting for Pepperjam (fka eBay Marketing Solutions), Director of Finance and Accounting for RSVP Gallery (rsvpgallery.com) among various other roles. Jua continues to raise capital for venture and early-stage private equity companies in the retail, entertainment, media and cannabis industries.
